Preparing for Negotiations & More
The current SHARE contract expires on October 1, 2022. Negotiations will likely begin in early Summer. Negotiations are a time to make our voices heard, fix problems, and set a course for the future. We’re having many conversations to prepare. And we’re doing lots more. You can click the grid below for an expanded view of some of the other things that SHARE has been working on recently . . .
And — As always — SHARE continues its work:
-
SHARE Organizers and Reps go to meetings with individual SHARE members to provide support and make sure the process is fair. The meetings may be disciplinary, coaching, or about an issue the member brings up that they want support with. Recent meetings include HIPPA violations and avoiding Patient Identification Errors. {Learn more about Problem Solving}
-
SHARE Organizers work with a group of members about a department issue that they would like to fix. Lately we’re very focused on short-staffing issues and making sure members can get time off for vacations and other important events.
-
SHARE Reps meet regularly to describe what’s happening in their areas and learn more about what’s going on in our union and in our community. Our most recent meetings have focused on:
• the Kronos disaster
• COVID Surges & Staffing Issues
• SHARE Friends and Family Job Fair
• Marlborough Hospital Contract Negotiations
To learn more, talk with {the SHARE Rep for your area}.
-
SHARE Organizers regularly attend UMass Memorial orientation to meet eligible new employees, where we welcome them, introduce them to our union, and sign them up as members. If we’ve missed you at orientation, be sure to check out the {Welcome} section of our website. Look forward to talking with you soon!
-
Although SHARE prioritizes one-to-one conversations with every member to build our community, we also work to keep everyone updated by continually improving {this website}, newly posting to social media including {Twitter}, {Facebook}, and {Instagram}, and regularly updating {the SHARE Blog}.
-
One of the very most important things about our union is our commitment to one-on-one conversations. Our shared stories make our union strong.
